I tried this place for the first time like 4 years ago and hated it. I don't understand what was wrong with me? Maybe it was my ex husband and my pending divorce that made me crazy. I tried it again about 6 months ago and have been obsessed with it!
The place is super simple, chicken strips, chicken sandwich, fries and garlic bread. No 5 story high menu board that takes 20 minutes to go through. They do one thing, and they do it well.
The chicken strips are always perfect, the fries golden and the garlic bread is amazing. But the big stand out? Their sauce! One little dipping cup is never enough! We fight for it! We have resorted to ordering a couple extras. -

It's pretty brave to put a chicken restaurant two doors down from the ever-so-delicious Chick-fil-A. With confidence like that we had to try it and here is the low-down:
Lemonade: similar taste, Cane's charges $.30 extra to add it to your meal and refills are $.86 but free at Chick-fil-A.
Menu choices: fewer options, but can't really compare because they are "chicken fingers" as opposed to the plethora of options at Chick-fil-A.
Fries:. I preferred Cane's crinkle cut fries to the waffle fries at Chick-fil-A.
Overall I thought the chicken here had a nice crispy texture, but it was kind of bland. All the flavor seemed to be in the one kind of sauce.
Conclusion. I prefer Chick-fil-A, but if you're gay you might prefer Cane's. -

It was late and this was open. The menu is simple and straight forward. Ordering was very easy. Food came out fast and was very hot a fresh. It's hard to get chicken strips and fries wrong and these were great. Music was very loud though, couldn't hear my friend sitting next to me. And it was freezing inside.

Cane's is Cane's and every one I've been to has been great, but this is the one I frequent the most (until Harlingen gets one). The food is always fresh, always served piping hot, and always served quickly as well. Their staff is friendly and attentive to the customer. I come here over other chicken tender places as the biggest difference between this place and their competitors is their toast and sauce. Other places give you standard toast that resembles what you put in your toaster at home. Here you get a large piece of toast and can get another if you swap out the cole slaw, which is what I do. I have only had one issue here and it was resolved in the best way possible. So they forgot about my order. I went in about 30 minutes before closing and somehow I was forgotten about. When I brought it up to the staff they got the manager for me who gave me my meal and also refunded me what I had paid. You won't ever hear me complain about that! I'll be coming for years to come, especially with Harlingen sleeping on this company.

Being that this was my first time at this establishment, I was a little unsure of what to expect in regards to food quality and price.
I must say that I was very pleased with the food and ambience of the restaurant.
I ordered 3 big box combo meals (since they don't have family combos) and when the food arrived, the chicken fingers were cooked to a golden brown and juicy. The crinkle cut fries were hot and crunchy and the speciality Cane's dipping sauce was tasty.
The only reason I gave this establishment 4 stars was the price and the glare of the sunlight coming in the front window.
I'm pretty sure management will place a blind or install window tint to stop the glare. It was extremely hard to look straight ahead when eating.
As with price, savvy customers will quickly realize that for the same cost you can get more (not necessarily better) food at other chicken restaurants.
All in all, Cane's could be considered the "go to" place for exceptional chicken fingers.
It's like the old adage, "You get what you paid for" and in this case your paying a premium for a premium product.
